The Met hope to get their 2025 campaign underway, welcoming Surrey 2 League leaders Old Caterhamians (Cats) to Imber Court. The icy weather has taken its toll on League fixtures in this New Year and consequently this is the first game for both clubs since Christmas. Cats will be licking their wounds after a shock and rare defeat to Chipstead spoiled their Christmas although the narrow margin enabled them to maintain the league lead over Old Wimbledonians. The Met claimed a resounding victory at Old Cranleighans and will be hoping that the momentum hasn't been lost in the ensuing 5 weeks.
The Met have been forced in to several changes from that last fixture, most notably at outside half where Sam Druce is a rare omission, replaced by Fred Dalley. Will Jarrett is another notable absentee, the young player of the season so far having made his last appearance as he embarks on his gap year travels.
In one of the longest matches in Met Police history, the Police suffered a hefty reverse at Caterham back in mid-October, not helped by playing what turned out to be the majority of the match with 14 players or less. The Met have subsequently found their feet against the League's best and this meeting has the makings of a rousing contest
